Excerpt #1 PG-rated (Dani's objective)

If what she had heard was true, her main objective was to gain admittance to the top floor of the three-story building. The floor rumored to be a sex club that catered to high profile members, including industrialists, elected officials, and even religious leaders. Were these people illegally using funds that didn't belong to them to indulge their personal pleasures and satisfy their sexual appetites? That was what she wanted to verify. That was the crux of her investigation, not that a sex club existed, but whether members were spending money that didn't belong to them. Money entrusted to them for legitimate purposes. Members who were betraying that trust.

The liquor license listed it as a private club, all above board and legal. But she suspected more, that the truth could be uncovered with an in-depth investigation. By approaching the situation as a prospective club member -- a prospective female applying for membership in a rumored sex club -- Dani hoped to succeed where male reporters had failed.

The uncomfortable idea of how far she would have to go to gain access to the club had occupied her thoughts on more than one occasion, especially if the rumors about a sex club proved to be true. She would be willing to go topless if absolutely necessary, but totally naked? And having sex with a stranger... or worse yet, more than one stranger... in front of other strangers? That notion terrified her and brought into question how badly she really wanted this story. Bad enough to participate in an orgy?

She focused her thoughts. She had to get past her hang-ups and concerns, stop dwelling on what if, and concentrate on how best to dig out the truth.

Excerpt #2 Adult (first kiss)

Mitch continued to hold Dani's hand as they walked next door. Her hand felt good in his, very comfortable and relaxed. He unlocked the front door and stepped aside so she could enter.

Three steps inside and she came to an abrupt halt then whirled around to face him. "Oh, my God! This isn't an apartment building, it's a house!"

Her sudden stop caught him off guard. He bumped into her, knocking her off balance. He grabbed her in his arms, catching her before she fell. He pulled her body tightly to him, her face close. Her firm breasts pressed against his chest. He felt each breath she drew, her ragged breathing matching his. His cock responded to her body heat, twitching to life and rising to the occasion. Taking it slow... testing the situation... taking the time to figure out specifically why she had invaded his territory. It all went to the wayside in a heated moment of unbridled lust.

His mouth came down hard on hers, an involuntary reaction he couldn't have prevented even if he wanted to. After a brief moment of surprised hesitation, she fully responded with an earthy sensuality that nearly knocked his socks off. She felt good in his arms, the contours of her body fitting with his as if they were made to be together. He aggressively thrust his tongue between her lips. Exploring, tasting and teasing. At that moment, he had only one thing on his mind -- spending the night engaged in hot sex with the delicious Dani Foreman.

She had grabbed his attention, captured his interest, and stimulated his libido all in one fell swoop. His common sense and instincts told him to back off, put it on hold, keep his pants zipped, leave it alone. If he hadn't been inside his own home, his instincts would be telling him to turn and run. But his desires vetoed his concerns. He wasn't even sure exactly what specifically concerned him.

Excerpt #3 PG-rated (the morning after)

Dani had only been awake for a few minutes. The first gray streaks of dawn shot across the dark sky. She watched Mitch as he slept. They had made love two more times before falling asleep. She had been unsure about whether to stay or if he assumed she would go home, indicating that he considered this night nothing more than a sexual hookup he didn't want to deal with in the morning. He had resolved that quandary when he asked her to spend the night. It had been a truly magical night... and an equally disturbing one.

Her deception when she met him in the bar and again at dinner left her feeling guilty, but that didn't compare to what she felt now. Even if Mitch had nothing to do with the mysterious Third Floor, when he found out her ulterior motive for being at the Oasis Bar in the first place, he would understandably want nothing more to do with her.

Mitch stirred, drawing her out of her thoughts.

He opened his eyes. As soon as his gaze fell on her, a smile turned the corners of his mouth. "Good morning." His voice held the huskiness of sleep, and his tousled hair made him look even sexier than he had last night. A renewed desire sparked in her belly. He reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from her cheek. "Have you been awake long?"

"No. Only a couple of minutes."

"Mmm... coffee. I'll make some coffee then we can discuss where we'll go for breakfast."

It all felt so natural, so comfortable. Make coffee, go to breakfast. Just as if it was any normal day and this was how it would always be. It was a lovely thought, a delightful fantasy, but reality would eventually intrude.

Excerpt #4 Adult (shower)

Clouds of steam filled the large freestanding shower, swirling around Mitch and Dani as they stood in the spray from multiple showerheads. Rivulets of water splashed down their bodies, carrying the sudsy lather down the drain. The very air around them seemed to scream sensuality, passion, and heated desire. The flow of water could not dampen the incendiary sparks that flew between them.

Playful touches turned to intimate caresses. Teasing kisses became the meshing and twining of tongues. He grabbed her ass cheeks, squeezing and kneading as he pulled her closer. Slick wet skin rubbed against slick wet skin. His erection pressed against her belly. Her entire body trembled with excitement as she circled her arms around his neck.

With a firm grip on her ass, he lifted her off her feet. Without even thinking, literally as a reflex action, she wrapped her legs around his hips. He brushed his lips against hers then continued across her face, finally arriving at her ear.

"Oh, God. Dani. I want you." His words sounded forced, his raspy voice filled with a sensual need matching the same need coursing through her veins. He took control of her mouth. Tasting. Demanding while also giving. "I want you now."

She couldn't answer him, was unable to force out any words. Could barely breathe. But that didn't prevent her from showing him what she wanted.

Excerpt #5 G-rated (his objective)

They arrived at her car. Dani slid in behind the steering wheel and started the engine. Mitch leaned in and placed a tender kiss on her mouth.

"You decide what you'd like to do tonight. Whatever you choose will be okay with me. I'll pick you up at your place at seven o'clock. Is that a good time for you?" It would also allow him an opportunity to see how she lived, what type of surroundings she preferred. Another clue to who she was and possibly what she wanted. A nagging apprehension continued to poke at him. Was he grasping at straws? Did he have a legitimate reason to be concerned? And why did it bother him so much that the woman he'd made love to was possibly lying to him?

"That sounds great."

He brushed another quick kiss across her lips, then she hurriedly backed out of the parking space and headed toward the exit. Perhaps a little too anxious to leave? He disliked the thought of prying into her personal life, even though he had to verify her identity. At least a cursory check to make sure she had actually written profiles of various business leaders. Something that could explain why she was looking for Leander Washington. Perhaps she wanted an interview with the elusive Leander for a freelance magazine article?

He had to admit that he'd never been in love before, certainly in lust lots of times, even serious lust and sincere infatuation, but never that ultimate pinnacle. He had never known that truly emotional connection that others embraced and cherished. Was it anything like the emotional high that hit him when he woke up with Dani next to him? Was that the emotion he couldn't identify?

The possibility scared him. Reality and practicality told him he needed to protect his identity, his many business interests, and the most important of all... his primary concern... the anonymity of his charities. And that meant guarding Third Floor against intrusion and exposure -- no matter what.
